Refunds and cancellations

What happens if you want your money back, and what happens when you cancel. It is published before the first customer rather than after the first argument, and it is linked from every page of ours that names a price.

The readiness report — $249 once

Ask within 14 days of buying it, and if the report has not been generated you get the whole amount back. Nothing is kept and no reason has to be given.

Once the report has been generated it has been delivered: it is a stamped file you keep and can produce again from the link you were given, so it cannot be returned. If the report will not produce at all, or produces something that is plainly not what was bought, email us and we will refund it whatever the date says — a delivery that did not happen is not a delivery.

A refunded report takes its subscription credit with it. The credit is worth $249 and lasts 90 days, and it exists because the report was paid for; a code that has already been used against a subscription invoice is settled and stays settled, and we will say so rather than take it back off you.

Subscriptions

Cancel at any time, from your own billing page, in one click and without asking anybody. Cancelling stops the subscription at the end of the period you have already paid for — it does not cut you off on the day you press it, and it does not bill you again.

There is no part-month refund. The month you are in has been paid for and you keep it in full, which is the same trade in both directions: cancel on the second day of a month and you keep the other twenty-nine.

Nothing you have put in your book is ever deleted by a cancellation. After the paid period ends the book becomes read-only, and everything in it stays openable, exportable and downloadable.

If a payment was taken that should not have been — a subscription you had already cancelled, or a charge for a month you were not in — that is a mistake rather than a refund request, and we send the money back in full.

How a refund is actually made

Email us. There is no refund button in this product and there is deliberately never going to be one: a refund moves money out of a payment company's account and a button that could not finish that job would be a promise the page cannot keep.

The operator makes the refund through the payment company that took the payment, and the money goes back to the card or account it came from. How long it then takes to appear is the payment company's and your bank's business, and we will not state a number we do not control.

The refund is then recorded against your purchase. Your purchase page says so, and the payments list on your billing page shows that payment as refunded — so what we have recorded is what you can read, rather than something you have to take on trust.

Your rights under Australian law

Nothing on this page takes away or limits any right you have under Australian law, including the Australian Consumer Law. Where the law gives you more than this policy does, the law is what applies.

This page does not attempt to set out what those rights are. It describes what we do, in the words we can stand behind; a summary of the law written by us would be a guess about somebody else's document, and the wording that a lawyer has to settle is recorded as an open question rather than invented here.
