Logging in with myID and RAM: How do I set them up to access the portals?

Checked against the published guidance on

The short answer.

myID is set up on a phone rather than in the portal, and it is a personal identity rather than an organisational one — which is the part that catches practices out, because a shared or work address cannot be used for it.

Once the myID exists it is linked to the business separately, in Relationship Authorisation Manager, and only then does it open the Commission's portals.

This answer is drawn from the regulator's own published guidance rather than from the text of an instrument. The guidance's words are quoted below, from a copy of the page fetched on the date shown; if that page changes, this answer comes off rather than staying up.

To set up you myID you need: a smart device – the myID app is compatible with most smart devices, such as smart phones, and is only available from the Apple App Store or Google Play a personal email address – because myID is for your personal identity, you will use a personal email address and not a shared or work email address

Download the myID app on your smart device.
